Scientific Trip to Social Affairs Directorate
On October 26th, 2023, as part of scientific activities carried out by the Faculty of Law at Tishk International University to provide more opportunities for students in the field of social science and law, a visit to the Social Affairs Directorate was organized, to help students learn about the foster care legal system. This visit was intended for fifth-grade students to obtain more experience in practical life, under the supervision of Lecturer Mr. Mohammed Ashraf Sheikho.
The director welcomed the students and provided an overview of the guidelines governing foster care. He drew parallels with international practices, noting that the concept originated in Britain during World War II and subsequently became codified into law in the 1970s. With respect to the Kurdistan Region, he highlighted the initiatives undertaken in the Sulaymaniyah Governorate.
