National Workshop on Academic Integrity

The Faculty of Law at Tishk International University conducted a workshop on Academic Integrity on October 6th, 2022. The workshop was presented by Sheraz Ibrahim, Director of the Pedagogical Training and Academic Development Centre at Lebanese French University. The workshop consisted of two sessions, commencing with the concept of academic integrity, common offences of dishonesty and the different methods available in addressing the offenses. The workshop covered issues around academic integrity.

Academic integrity is often framed around misconduct and dishonesty, leading to both negative and punitive connotations. However, the presenter demonstrated a different educative, preventative, and positive approach to promoting student success. The workshop aimed to support the idea of creating a learning environment that reduces the incentive and opportunity for students to cheat and can also increase their motivation and mastery of course material. Academic integrity and success often result from careful planning, preparation, and awareness of resources on the part of the student.
