Faculty of Law, with the support of Tishk International University, made a section in the library under the name of Anfal section. Court papers were made books and kept in our library.

The Al-Anfal Campaign also known as the Kurdish Genocide was a genocidal campaign against the Kurdish People in northern Iraq, The Anfal campaign began in 1986 and lasted until 1989, The Anfal campaign included the use of ground offensives, aerial bombing, systematic destruction of settlements, firing squads, and chemical warfare.

Thousands of civilians were killed during the anti-insurgent campaigns stretching from the spring of 1987 through the fall of 1988. The attacks were part of a long-standing campaign that destroyed approximately 4,500 Kurdish and at least 31 Assyrian villages in areas of northern Iraq and displaced at least a million of the country’s estimated 3.5 million Kurdish population.

Also on March 16, 1988, there was a genocidal poison gas attack on the city of Halabja in which 3,200-5,000 Kurdish people were killed, most of them civilians.

On the 18th April 2016, Tishk International University Organized An Anfal Ceremony at the Campus, Mr. Mahmud Haji Hamad The Minister Of Martyrs, Planing and Follow-up Department, Representative of the Government and Intellectuals honored the Conference Hosts with their participation.

The event started with the National Anthem of Kurdistan, the Kurdish Genocide make as a Document and presented at Tishk International University Library, the organizing Committee consist of  Dr. Hüseyin Çakıllıkoyak Dean of the Law Faculty, Mr. Ali Huseyin head of the Law DepartmentZaman Abda the president of Kurdistan Anfal Organization, and Ayad Kakayi the Head of Kurdistan Bar Association.

The Aim of collecting these Documents to make the students know the kurdish Genocide and make the Tishk International Library rich for scientific and Academic researches.
