On the 17th of October 2021, the Faculty of Law at Tishk International University organized a table tennis tournament in which students from all grades participated. The event was conducted under the supervision and management of Mr. Abdullah Shaxawan, Head of Extracurricular Activities Programs.
Table tennis is a fun and social sports activity that is very important for mental health. In a world occupied by technology, people are feeling more and more disconnected from each other, and have become less interactive and physical. Table tennis provides students a great chance to step away from the screen, and bond with the person on the other side of the ping pong table. This sport offers surprisingly great health benefit’s as it stimulates mental alertness and concentration and develops mental acuity. It also helps to build strength and speed, without risking serious injury.
On the 15th and 16th of October, the Faculty of Law collected the names of the students that are interested in playing table tennis. Eventually, 20 students participated in this activity which took place on the fourth floor of the main building.
The names of the players were chosen by drawing lots and were posted on whatsapp groups. Every week, two matches took place, and the final match was held on the 11th November, 2021. The Faculty of Law rewarded the players who won first place, Ismail Faris and second place, Ali Natiq. Students were awarded trophies by Mr. Ako Sabah Mawlood, Head of Faculty of Law, and Dr. Mustafa Bingol.
On behalf of the Faculty of Law at Tishk International University, we would like to congratulate the winners of the tournament and wish them further success. We would love to see further student participation in the several activities to come.
