World War I (also called the Great War), a world war began in Europe from 28 July 1914 and ended on November 11, 1918. The time of its occurrence was described as “the war that will end all wars.” More than 70 million military personnel, 60 million of them Europeans, to participate in one of the greatest wars in history. More than 9 million fighters and seven million civilians have been killed as a result of the war (including the victims of a number of genocide). The rate of casualties has increased due to the technical and industrial development of belligerents and the tactical stagnation caused by the trench warfare.

War is one of the most violent conflicts in history and has led to major political changes that included the revolutions of 1917-1923 in many of the participating countries.
