Seminar: Legal Harmonization
On January 11, 2026, the Faculty of Law at Tishk International University organized an academic seminar delivered by Assistant Lecturer Khalid Khurshid, entitled “Legal Harmonization.” The seminar addressed the concept of legal harmonization as one of the fundamental pillars for ensuring coherence and consistency among legal rules, whether at the level of national legislation or in the context of their alignment with international standards.
The lecturer also discussed the importance of harmonization between legal texts and their practical application, highlighting its role in reducing legislative conflicts, enhancing legal stability, and achieving legal justice in both judicial and administrative practice.
Furthermore, the seminar shed light on the positive effects of legal harmonization in developing the legislative system, improving the quality of laws, and strengthening public trust in legal institutions, particularly in light of rapid legislative developments and the growing need to adapt laws to social and economic changes.
This seminar is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 16 (SDG 16): Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, through promoting the rule of law, improving the quality of legislation, and supporting the establishment of effective legal institutions based on legislative coherence and justice, thereby contributing to the consolidation of legal and institutional stability within society.
