On April 6, 2025, the Faculty of Law at Tishk International University (TIU) hosted a seminar presented by Lecturer Dr. Khalid Jalal. The seminar was titled, “An Analytical Reading of Law No. (1) of 2025 – Amendment to Personal Status Law No. 188 of 1959.”
The seminar was held in Hall 443 of the Main Building and was attended by Sabah Qasim, Head of the Department, and other staff members.
The seminar addressed the most significant amendments to the Iraqi Personal Status Law and highlighted the legal and social reasons behind these changes. It also examined the potential impact of these amendments on the structure of Iraqi families and society, as well as their effect on the rights and obligations of family members. The seminar included an active discussion with attendees, who asked questions and provided insights that contributed to a deeper understanding of the legislative changes and their adaptation to evolving social dynamics.
