On October 24, 2024, the Faculty of Law at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a mock trial, or Moot Court, for its fourth-year students. The session, guided by Asst. Lecturer Mr. Kastro Salim, focused on the practical application of Article 406 (Murder) of the Iraqi Penal Law.
The event was attended by Dr. Hussein Balisany, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Dr. Sabah Qasim, Head of the Department, along with other faculty lecturers and students. This mock trial provided students with an immersive learning experience, allowing them to apply their theoretical knowledge to a realistic legal scenario. The initiative is designed to deepen students’ comprehension of judicial practices and the nuances of legal procedures, effectively preparing them for their future roles in the legal profession.
