Mock Trial: The Annulment Lawsuit of an Administrative Decision to Close a Shop for Practicing Witchcraft.
As part of its commitment to strengthening practical legal education and bridging the gap between theoretical study and real-world application, the Faculty of Law at Tishk International University organized a mock trial before the Administrative Court entitled “The Annulment Lawsuit of an Administrative Decision Issued to Close a Shop Due to Its Use for Practicing Witchcraft.” The event took place on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
The activity was carried out with the participation of fourth-year students under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Abdulkarim Sharif, and in the presence of several faculty members and students. The mock trial aimed to:
- Train students in the procedures of annulment lawsuits before the administrative judiciary.
- Enable them to draft legal pleadings and formulate both procedural and substantive defenses.
- Examine the legality of the administrative decision and assess the extent to which it was based on lawful grounds related to public order.
- Enhance students’ advocacy skills and their ability to analyze the elements of an administrative decision, including jurisdiction, form, cause, subject matter, and purpose.
This activity aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), as it contributes to reinforcing the principles of the rule of law, strengthening judicial oversight of administrative decisions, and promoting a culture of legal accountability, thereby supporting the development of fair, effective, and law-abiding institutions.
