Faculty of Law Attends International Willem C. Vis Moot Competition in Vienna
The Vienna Moot Court Competition is one of the most prestigious competitions in International Commercial Arbitration. Our team from

was the only team from the Kurdistan Region in Iraq to participate in the competition among 380 universities around the world.
- On April 1st, our team had two rounds of competition. The first session was with the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research from India. In that round, our students explained the basic rules of commercial arbitration exceptionally well. On the same date, the second round started between (Universidade Salvador) from Brazil and our team, in which our students also provided an excellent performance.
- During the third round, which started on April 2nd, our students competed against a team from the University of Mainz/ Germany. This university is ranked 241 in Best Global Universities. Schools were evaluated based on their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence. Our students were confident and were able to deliver an exceptional performance.
- In the last round of the competition, which occurred on April 4th, our students had the opportunity to compete against Panamerican University, which is ranked 541 in QS World University Rankings by Top Universities.

During the event, the supervisor of the team met the Commercial Law Development Program Manager, who works in the Ministry of Commercials in the USA (Mays Abas Abusy). She was excited that our team was able to attend the competition this year in Vienna. She added that our team have been participating in this completion for three consecutive years, and this year was an exceptionally positive experience for our students. She asked us to communicate with Erbil to transfer the program to Kurdistan Region through Tishk International University.
