On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the Faculty of Law at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a workshop titled, “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Law and Judiciary.”

The workshop was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulbasit Kareem, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law. The first session, on “The role of artificial intelligence in law,” was presented by Prof. Dr. Qasim Obaidi, a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering at TIU. The second session focused on “The role of artificial intelligence in judiciary.”

The workshop was attended by Dr. Hussein Balisani, Dean of the Faculty of Law, along with faculty members, students, and guests. It was emphasized that while AI can streamline legal research, predict case outcomes, and assist in drafting documents, concerns about bias, transparency, and accountability remain. The workshop concluded that, despite its potential, AI cannot yet be fully depended upon for legal analysis without human oversight and clear ethical guidelines.
