International Workshop: Modern Legislative Trends in Establishing Media Immunity
The Department of Law at Tishk International University has organized an International Workshop titled “The Modern Legislative Trends in Establishing Media Immunity in the Field of Media Work”, to be held on April 26th, 2022, in the Main Building, Hall 401.
The workshop focuses on the scope of the media immunity granted to journalists. It revolves around four main ideas:
1) The press misdemeanor is not subject to judicial investigation procedures
2) Prohibition of pretrial detention in media publishing cases
3) The right to the personal safety of the journalist
4) Giving media professionals the authority to control the sector
The workshop will be presented by Dr. Musawi Abdul-Halim – The University of Tahri Muhammad Bashar
