Faculty of Law Visits Elderly Home in Erbil

Under the instructions of the Presidency and Student Deanery of Tishk International University, the Faculty of Law at TIU visited the Elderly Home in Erbil to build a relationship with the home and provide services to the elderly members. The faculty formed a committee consisting of Dr. Mustafa and Mr. Bayar and visited the nursing home administration to explain the purpose of their visit and discuss the project scheme. On March 1st, 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Faculty of Law and the elderly home.

The MoU signed will facilitate interaction and cooperation between the two parties, allowing the faculty to provide efficient assistance and services required. Upon agreement, the nursing home informed the faculty of several necessities required, which included smart laundry machines.

To fund this project, the Faculty of Law designed a donation scheme to collect funds from students and staff members of the faculty. With the tremendous help received, the faculty were able to purchase the appliances in April after collecting $960 in total.

On behalf of the faculty, we extend our deepest gratitude to all volunteering staff and students, and would also like to thank the Erbil Elderly Home for their cooperation and commitment. We do look forward to further collaboration with the home and wish to continue providing the services required.
