On February 19, 2025, the Faculty of Law at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a scientific trip for its fourth-year students to the Directorate of Residency in Erbil. The trip was guided by Mr. Muhammed Ashraf and Ms. Pari Soran.
The visit was designed to give students a firsthand understanding of the practical procedures for obtaining foreign residence permits in Erbil. Students also learned about the process of granting residency to foreigners who marry an Iraqi citizen and the special facilities provided to them.
Furthermore, the visit provided an opportunity to discuss various issues related to foreigners and their right of residence, in accordance with guidelines No. (1) of 2021 issued by the Ministry of Interior in the Kurdistan Region.
