Conducting Moot Court

On 19 January 2026, the Faculty of Law at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a moot court for fourth-year students under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Castro Salim. The moot court addressed the crime of terrorism and the related legal and judicial procedures, with reference to the provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Law.

The moot court aimed to enhance students’ practical understanding of how to handle terrorism-related cases, starting from the investigation stage, through trial procedures, and culminating in the issuance of judicial rulings. This activity contributed to strengthening legal knowledge and bridging the gap between theoretical study and practical application.

The event was attended by a number of faculty members and students, as the classroom was transformed into a realistic simulation of a courtroom. Students assumed the roles of judge, public prosecutor, defense counsel, and defendant, in accordance with established legal procedures.

This activity is also consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by promoting the rule of law, raising legal awareness, and building a legally informed generation capable of contributing to the achievement of justice and combating terrorism in all its forms.
