On November 27, 2024, the Faculty of Law at Tishk International University (TIU) hosted a seminar titled “Digital Safety Campaign.” The seminar was led by Mr. Jegr Rashid, radio and social media director, and Mr. Karwan Jameel Hussien, Head of Media and Relations Department, both from the General Directorate of Combating Violence Against Women and Family in Erbil.
The seminar, held in Hall 401, was attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hussien Balisani, Dean of Faculty, Sabah Qasim, Head of the Department, and other staff members. The speakers provided clarification on how individuals can protect themselves from digital attackers. They also gave a brief introduction to the General Directorate of Combating Violence Against Women and Family in Erbil, including its founding and subsequent developments. The discussion also addressed necessary amendments to laws currently in force in Kurdistan, Iraq, related to these issues.
